Traveling is the best way to gain exposure. It has been such a good source of inspiration to me. There is a group of realtors who travel together most of the time and I admire this a lot.

Borgan, I agree that it has that ‘amateurish’ look to it but I know a lot of people who are using it, with little or no qualms at all. That fact that it’s also come a long way means that stability can be attributed to it. A lot could still be done, but it works just perfectly for me.

Most realtors are using this medium but I think it is important to make sure that these videos are of good quality. I have come across some poorly edited videos on YouTube and you can easily tell that a lot wasn’t put into the production.

There are so many courses available and you should be able to get many of these online. I once came across a real estate website and once I subscribed, newsletters have been hitting my email fortnightly. Having said this, marketing is something that requires the drive first, rather than training.

I agree that with Facebook, you are able to target a larger audience. I see people use the hashtags to promote their businesses on Twitter. I don’t think it is very effective especially when the trending topic has very little or no relevance to your business. On another note, is there a paid-up option for ads on Twitter?

I’m also not so much into reading but whenever I get hold of a book, I ensure that I have finished reading it. For starters, you may want to get ‘Will it Fly’ by Thomas K. McNight. I bought it a few weeks ago but I am yet to get started. It is an effective book if you want to weigh the chances of your business idea succeeding.

My issue with most of these websites is that the 24-hour support is mostly on paper. Even what they call ‘live chats’ end up being non-functional. The customer is the lifeline of the business so negative comments and responses should be handled carefully.

  • I get a lot of these invites too but I have never bothered to check what this social site is all about. However, it now makes sense since most of these invites have been from friends who are plying their trade in the fashion industry.

I see a lot of businesses struggling to cement their online presence without the help of real professionals. Whereas this used to be an in-house function, a lot of these companies are now outsourcing the social media operations. I believe this is one way of achieving objectivity, through unbiased feedback and recommendations. It may be costly in…[Read more]

  • Do you foresee a drop in the value of property in the years to come as a result of home owners opting to sell their homes rather than continuing to service their mortgages? I think the property boom signifies a bright future for real estate companies. I’m just wondering if the same can be said about home owners?
